3i announces board changes

3i Group plc announces that Lord Smith of Kelvin intends to retire as a non-executive Director with effect from 31 October 2009 in order to focus on his other responsibilities, including as Chairman of the 2014 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee.

John Allan, who joined the Board as a non-executive Director on 1 September 2009, will succeed Lord Smith of Kelvin as Chairman of Remuneration Committee from 1 November 2009.
