3i sells stake in Atea
3i, Europe's leading private equity and venture capital company, has agreed to sell its stake in Atea Holding AB, a leading provider of IT infrastructure in the Nordic market, to Ementor ASA, a Norwegian IT company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
The purchase price for the whole company is €114 million. 3i''s holding in Atea was 48.7%. The acquisition is subject to approval from the relevant competition authorities.
Since 3i''s investment in 2001, Atea has worked actively to strengthen its market position and expand its product and service offering. It has completed seven acquisitions during the past five years. These included Martinsson in Sweden and Novosys in Finland.

The combination is an important step for both partners and create a strong strategic platform for future growth. Following the acquisition, the Ementor will be the third largest European provider of IT infrastructure solutions and the leader in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
