Pieter joined 3i in 2004. He was Managing Director of 3i Benelux and was co-Head Private Equity and a member of the Executive Committee from 2019 to 2024. He is based in Amsterdam.

He was a key member of the deal teams involved in Yanga, Mepal, European Bakery Group, Royal Sanders, Basic-Fit, Weener Plastics, Lampenwelt, Refresco and Action. He currently sits on the Boards of BoConcept, Yanga, Mepal, European Bakery Group, Royal Sanders and Weener Plastics. 

Pieter has more than 35 years’ experience in corporate finance, management and operations. He started his career at Stork in the US, before joining Van Den Boom Groep, a corporate finance consulting firm in Benelux, where he became partner responsible for M&A. After selling the company to NIBC, Pieter headed its M&A department. 

Pieter has an MBA degree from Georgia State University (USA) and a BBA degree from Nijenrode University (Netherlands).
