Overview

Shared Tower builds and operates towers and passive fiber networks for wireless carriers, providing these partners with the critical passive infrastructure to support their communications networks. Shared Tower is an independent platform that makes its infrastructure solutions available to all networks, providing speed-to-market and a reliable service for customers.

3i made an initial investment in 2022 as the company’s first institutional investor. The investment helped capitalize the pipeline of tower development opportunities and allowed Shared Tower to expand its operations and team. During 3i’s hold period, the company tripled the size of its tower portfolio and successfully expanded into other passive network infrastructure solutions.

In February 2025, 3i completed the sale of its stake to funds managed by Northleaf Capital Partners.
