Founded in 1945, we are an investment company specialising in Private Equity and Infrastructure in our core investment markets of Europe and North America. We are headquartered in London and have been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1994. 

Our Private Equity and Infrastructure businesses manage a mix of proprietary and third-party funds. We generate a capital return from our investments, as well as fee income from the funds we manage on behalf of third parties.

We invest with the objective of generating attractive returns through the cycle for our shareholders and co-investors. We aim to achieve this objective sustainably by behaving responsibly as an investor, an employer and a corpoate citizen. 

Thanks to our permanent capital, we have a medium to long-term investment horizon and we invest in companies that benefit from structural growth trends, such as digitalisation, value-for-money, the energy transition and demographic and social change. 

Once invested, we actively work with the founders and management teams of our portfolio companies to set the strategy for the business, covering areas such as international growth, M&A, commercial and operational improvements, and governance.
